What happens next?

Once we receive your instruction the assessment will be scheduled into our diary, if we are assessing a rental or a an empty property then this would be after access has been arranged with the authorised third party. (your agent or tenant). We will then email you with the appointment date and time, we will also include our invoice. THIS IS NOT DUE UNTL WE HAVE COMPLETED THE ASSESSMENT and instructions on how to access your new assessment. On the day of the assessment the assessor will call when they are on their way.

Once at the property the assessor will carry out a doorstep briefing, why they are there, what they will be doing and the order they will be doing it in etc. They will then proceed through the property into the roof space, if appropriate, (we bring our own ladders, but will use any that are fixed) making notes and gathering the requisite evidence and sketching their plan, where practical they will also take photographs of the outside of the property.
Once this has been completed they may have questions about items they haven’t seen such as room thermostats. Once we have completed the visit and our invoice has been settled the EPC will be lodged, unless there are any issues relating to Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) in which case we will advise.

To ease the process we would appreciate it if you would use our invoice number a the payee reference number when paying by bank transfer and reply to the scheduling email letting us know payment has been made. You will then be able to access the new certificate within 2 working days.
